Chris James
Hello, my name is Chris James and I am the Program Manager at Scholarship Chicago. Prior to my arrival at Scholarship Chicago, I was the Manager of an African-American Male Initiative for Alternatives, Inc., a non-profit organizations in the Uptown community.
My professional history includes corporate support and managerial experience, international military experience and programmatic non-profit experience; and within these experiences, I have worked and learned from critical thinkers and decision-makers, strategic and tactical leaders and problem solvers of all kinds.
I am a Chicago native and graduate of Holy Name Cathedral High School. Shortly thereafter, I enlisted and honorably completed nearly 6 years in the United States Air Force and after an Honorable Discharge I soon began and completed my undergraduate education at DePaul University, graduating with a Liberal Arts Degree concentrating on Public Service.
I enjoy the multi-layered challenges associated with providing sustainable solutions to problems encountered by our scholars, and their families as they pursue a better quality of life. To enhance my understanding of these challenges and provide creative solutions, I am currently enrolled at DePaul University pursuing my graduate degree in Metropolitan Planning and Urban Affairs.
Thank you for your interest in, and support of, Scholarship Chicago.
Chris James
