The road to college for Bridget Bakke has not been easy. Growing up in Chicago’s foster system was hard enough, but when one of her sisters died in the sixth grade from childhood diabetes it seemed as if things couldn’t get worse. Fortunately, Bridget has an overwhelming inner strength and has still managed to become one of the top students in her class. In the future she has hopes of becoming a pediatrician or pharmacist.
