Destiny Ortega

Destiny Ortega has never let her social situation affect her attitude. To her, being the daughter of a single parent and living below the poverty line has only been an opportunity to grow emotionally and become stronger. She knows the odds of her succeeding in college are not in her favor, but she is ready to "challenge these odds head first, fists flailing and legs kicking." It is that type of determination that has lead to Destiny’s current success, including a 4.0 GPA, and will make her even more successful in the future as she strives to become a marine biologist.
