"Launch the Future" Kick-Off Retreat

Each year, we kick-off our College Bound program with a weekend retreat to a Midwestern college.  Along with being a lot of fun and an great chance for our scholars to bond, this retreat also gets the students ready to face their senior year of high school and the occasionally daunting college application process.

During the weekend, students go over financial aid form, the Common Application, and write the first draft of their personal statements.  They also meet with representatives from the college and get expert advice from professionals.  Plus, by living in the dorms, they get their first taste of what life will be like when they finish high school.
