My favorite book:  I enjoy nonfiction and social critique, including Susan Pinker's The Sexual Paradox, David Brook's Bobos in Paradise, and the many works of Adrienne Rich and bell hooks.

My dream profession: I hope to earn an MD/ MPH in gynecology and international health care in order to bridge the healthcare gap for women in underdeveloped and developing countries. I aspire to build personal relationships with my patients and to use my knowledge of their experiences for big-picture reform.
The piece of advice that I would give to a high school freshman about college: Students should begin their college search as early as possible. They should ask questions, apply early, and visit campuses in order to gauge their comfort level at various schools throughout the country.
