Albert Castillo is a software architect and sole proprietor of Codigo Systems, a consulting service he has operated since 2002. He specializes in the design and development of enterprise web applications. He has been in the professional computing industry since 1995 and formerly held consulting positions with Proxicom, Inc in Chicago and research staff positions at Mitsubishi Electric, BBN Systems and Technologies, Intel and MIT Media Lab.

Albert is a native of Chicago and a product of the Chicago Public School system. While attending Curie High School on the city's southwest side, he greatly benefited from mentoring programs similar to Scholarship Chicago. He was introduced to Scholarship Chicago in early 2006 and joined the Associate Board soon afterward.

Albert is a member of the MIT Educational Council which helps recruit and interview local students from Chicago. He also serves on the board of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Chicago Chapter. Albert holds a B.S. degree in computer science from MIT, and a M.Eng. degree in computer science from Cornell University.
