Mr. Stier is the Midwest Practice Leader of Deloitte's Investment Management Services Group. He has provided accounting, auditing, due diligence and consulting services for investment advisors, investment companies, investment partnerships and transfer agents. Mr. Stier has been invited to speak at a number of association and industry events including the National Investment Company Service Association (NICSA), the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR), Institute for International Research (IIR), The Investment Analysts Society of Chicago (IASC), and the Greater Chicago Investment Management Group (GCIMG). At such engagements, he has addressed a wide array of industry issues including fair valuation, soft dollars, best execution and AIMR Performance Presentation Standards compliance.

Mr. Stier leads the regional industry-training efforts and has designed educational programs currently in use by Deloitte practitioners. Mr. Stier also served as chief editor of the Firm’s national investment company publication, NAV – News And Views, where he has authored several articles.
