Jim Reynolds, Board Member, was the featured speaker at the 8th Annual Chicago Scholars Awards Ceremony where he encouraged the scholars to “have a vision and share it.” Mr. Reynolds lives out this motto with his work on behalf of Scholarship Chicago and other organizations dedicated to serving Chicago’s community.

Mr. Reynolds is the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Loop Capital Markets, LLC. He has worked in the financial services industry for 20 years. Before starting Loop Capital Markets, Mr. Reynolds was a Director at Merrill Lynch & Company in the Chicago regional office. As one of the leading salespeople in the Corporate and Institutional Client Group, Mr. Reynolds managed the municipal sales team responsible for the distribution of all tax-exempt products to institutional investors in the Midwest.

He is a board member of Illinois Economic Development Board, Lincoln Academy of Illinois, Chicago State University, University of Chicago Hospital, Chicago Zoological Society, Youth Leadership Foundation, ETA Theatre, City Year, Chicago Public Education Fund, Chicago Summer Business Institute and treasurer for the Chicago Urban League. Mr. Reynolds serves as President for the Alliance of Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs, an influential organization of African-American business leaders in Chicago.
