The piece of advice that I would give to a high school freshman about college is: Not only must you take full advantage of all that your school and community offers, take the initiative to create your own opportunities. Go beyond your comfort zone, be it with friends, classes, or extracurricular activities. Get involved and always participate. Never compromise your own dignity by doing less than your best.
My heros are: My grandparents are my heroes. It is because of their self-sacrifice that I am here today. They have shown me what it means to realize the fullness of my humanity.
