A committed advocate of higher education for all students, Gary Caplan helped found College Bound in 1996 along with five other childhood friends. Gary was instrumental in bringing together College Bound and Scholarship Chicago in order to help serve more deserving youth. Today he serves as a co-chair of Scholarship Chicago.
As a partner with Sachnoff & Weaver, Mr. Caplan successfully represented national bank card issuers in numerous class action lawsuits involving claims under the Truth in Lending Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Bankruptcy Code. He also has extensive appellate experience before the Illinois Appellate Court and the Seventh and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Gary is the recipient of the Chicago Bar Association?s Abraham Lincoln Marovitz Lend-A-Hand Program Making a Difference Award for co-founding College Bound.
